All you need to know!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Carnaval Sztukmistrzów is a festival of new circus, acrobatics, and clowning, held in Lublin since 2008. Street performers and masters of circus arts from all over Europe come to Lublin to present breathtaking shows and performances. Visitors can meet sword swallowers, acrobats, and street performers who are bound to move them to tears of laughter. These performances are open to the public, often inviting them to participate actively. Some events have a fee and can be attended only in the Big Top.

Carnaval has consistently taken place around the last weekend of July for many years. The upcoming edition is scheduled for July 24–27, 2025.

Stage shows are held under the Big Top in Błonia, theatres and outdoor stages. Street and busker acts  are held in Lublin’s main squares (Litewski, Łokietka, po Farze square) and streets and alleys of the Old Town and the city centre, as well as in Błonia near the Castle.

Stage performances at Carnaval Sztukmistrzów are paid. Tickets are available for specific events.

However, you may participate in the event without paying a penny and still have a great time. There are no admission costs and a significant portion of the event is held outside. However, you can help the performers by putting money into their hats.  Some free activities, including workshops, require registration because there is a limited number of places available.

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers!
Drop by one of our Info Points during Carnaval Sztukmistrzów and chat with our smiling volunteers! They’re here to help with anything you need—whether you’re looking for show tips, directions, or a paper copy of the festival program.

Where to Find Us:

  • Łokietka Square – open Thursday (24.07) to Sunday (27.07), from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Swing by, say hi, and let the magic begin!

Outdoors

Sit down – don’t block the view.
Let shorter folks, kids, or anyone with mobility issues get a better spot. Respect the space the artist sets up.

Be loud, be proud!
If you liked the show, let the artist know – applause, kind words, a handshake, or a coin in the hat (for most street performers, that hat is their paycheck!).

Have fun – you’re part of the show.
As a member of the audience, you’re not just watching – you’re part of the energy. Laugh at others, sure – but learn to laugh loudest at yourself.

Follow instructions
Please listen to the artist and festival staff – they’re here to keep things safe and smooth.

Indoors

Buy your tickets online
Use only the official links we provide, or buy on-site up to one hour before the show starts at the Błonia area (until sold out).

Arrive early
Seating takes time – and while you wait in line, why not strike up a conversation with someone next to you?

Don’t be late
Once the show starts, the magic shouldn’t be interrupted.

Know what you’re getting into
Not all shows are for kids. Indoor performances often follow the “new circus” style – they can be bold, experimental, or even challenging in content or form.

No flash, no filming, no phones
Respect the artists and your fellow audience members by keeping devices off during indoor shows.

Stay aware
Crowds are fun, but easy to get lost in—keep an eye on your valuables… and your kids.

And speaking of kids…
Watch your little ones—and if you notice a stray child nearby, lend a caring eye.

Head for the Błonia near the Castle! That’s the heart of Carnaval.

Heads up: Finding a parking spot during the festival can be tricky, so we recommend using public transport, a city bike, or simply walking. Lublin also has rentable e-scooters!

Bring an umbrella. Usually, in the case of light rainfall, street performances proceed as planned. The decision to interrupt or cancel the show is made by the street artists themselves, who independently assess the safety and feasibility of their performance.

Keeping Kids Safe

Pick up a free wristband for your child at the Festival Info Point. If your child gets lost, we can quickly contact you using the phone number you write on the band.

Check our website for suggested minimum ages for each performance. Plus, find all kid-focused events easily with the filter in the PROGRAMME tab.

We love pets and that’s why for the comfort, well-being and safety of your pets, we encourage you to leave them at home.  Hundreds of people attend the festival, and there are many loud noises, intense lights, and an accumulation of stimuli that will stress and frighten your pet, even if they are familiar with such situations. We’re  leaving our four-legged friends at home.

Come to the venue and give us your full name. If it’s in the system, you will enter without any problems.

Come to the venue and show the QR code.

You may take photos at most events, except the big top shows. Signs will be put up warning of the photography restrictions, and the MC will remind everyone from the stage.

There’s so much to see and do, we can’t possibly fit it all here! To discover more, check out lublininfo.com or visit the Tourist Inspiration Centre at Jezuicka 1/3. You can also call them at +48 533 391 569.

Please refer to: nocowanie.pl, booking.com, lubelskietravel.pl. They will help you find suitable accommodation. Plenty of rooms are available in student residence halls. It’s worthwhile to take this option into account if you’re planning a low-budget trip. Check Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, for instance.

A paid public restroom is located on Zamkowa Street (between Błonia and Zamkowy Square, entrance from the Błonia side) – open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. During the Carnival of Buskers, we also provide temporary toilets.

If you use a wheelchair or have limited mobility and would like to attend this year’s ticketed shows, let us know in advance! We’ll make sure you have a comfortable and accessible spot. And if you need it, we can also provide professional assistance—just let us know what you need.

We want everyone to enjoy the magic of this year’s Carnaval Sztukmistrzów together!

Please get in touch at least 3 days before the event by emailing us at info@carnavallublin.eu or calling +48 81 533 08 18.

🎟️ Tickets for paid shows are available at Stage24.
