Clowning workshops with Piotr Sikora and Clémence Caillouel
About
In addition to their performances, Piotr Sikora and Clémence Caillouel will lead open clowning workshops. These sessions are designed for adults who want to reconnect with their inner child and embrace the joy of play.
No previous experience or preparation is required – just openness, curiosity and a willingness to take part. Participation is free of charge. As the number of places is limited, participants are encouraged to register in advance via the registration form.
During the workshop led by French artist Clémence Caillouel, participants will discover that a clown is a creator who knows how to laugh at themselves. Drawing on improvisational theatre techniques, they will explore the clown as a free, unpredictable and boundary-crossing character – while also embracing vulnerability and finding inspiration in personal tragedies and everyday comedies.
Meanwhile, “Games and Activities” is a 90-minute session for anyone who wants to reconnect with a time when there was nothing to prove and play was a natural part of everyday life. Through simple games, movement and group activities, participants will rediscover that spirit within their adult selves – not to return to childhood, but to regain a sense of lightness, courage and connection with others.
We’ll practise paying attention to one another, staying focused, responding to impulses and using the body to express emotions. We’ll discover how play can help us build relationships – less analysing, more simply being together
– says Piotr Sikora.
No previous experience is required. Just wear comfortable clothes and come ready for a little creative silliness.
We also invite you to explore the comedy stage lineup, featuring performances by Piotr and Clémence.

About the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów
Carnaval Sztukmistrzów is the largest festival in Poland showcasing contemporary circus arts. For years the event has attracted crowds of residents and tourists to the city. They are drawn not only by world-class circus performances, but also by the magical atmosphere of the festival. The program includes clowning, acrobatics, juggling, and illusion shows presented as engaging circus performances, as well as attractions for children and concerts. It is the most performatively diverse festival in the country. In addition, the Carnaval is accompanied by the Urban Highline Festival—the oldest and largest highline festival in the world held in an urban space. Most of the festival program is free of charge and takes place in streets, squares, and public spaces. Some events are ticketed and can be seen in theatres and performance halls.
