Join the Busking contest of the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów 2026!
About the event
We invite all street performance artists and buskers to co-create Carnaval Sztukmistrzów! From the submitted applications, we will select up to 10 diverse acts to be presented in the heart of Lublin on July 23–26, 2026.
Why is it worth it?
For 17 years, our audience has enthusiastically welcomed performers, rewarding them not only with applause but also with generous donations in the hat. Each year, the festival attracts over 100,000 visitors, ensuring a fantastic atmosphere and strong attendance at performances. Additionally, one participating artist will receive a financial award of 3,000 PLN.
Participation conditions:
- Performances: We provide a minimum of 2 shows per day over the 4 days of the festival, in prestigious locations around the city.
- Logistics: We offer free accommodation and meals.
- Travel reimbursement: We reimburse travel costs up to €600 (international arrivals) or 500 PLN (within Poland).
- Technical support: We provide a performance space and basic technical support (portable speaker, microphone). All other props and technical elements are the responsibility of the performer.
- Promotion: We guarantee inclusion in the official program (print and website) and broad promotion of the event.
- Compensation: The busking program is based on the traditional hat collection format (the festival does not provide fixed fees).
How to apply?
If you accept the above conditions and would like to perform for the carnaval audience, please complete the application form by April 20, 2026. By April 30, 2026, we will select the most interesting proposals and send official invitations to participate in the festival!
About the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów
Carnaval Sztukmistrzów is the largest festival in Poland dedicated to contemporary circus arts. For years, the event has attracted crowds of both residents and tourists to the city. They are drawn not only by top-quality circus performances, but also by the festival’s magical atmosphere.
The program includes, among others, clowning, acrobatics, juggling, and illusion shows presented in the form of exciting circus performances, as well as attractions for children and concerts. It is the most performatively diverse festival in the country.
Additionally, the Carnaval is accompanied by Urban Highline—the oldest and largest highline festival in the world held in an urban space. Most of the festival program is free of charge and takes place ברח streets, squares, and public spaces across the city. Some events are ticketed and can be seen in the Circus Tent or in a theatre.
