We invite you to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of contemporary circus! This year, we are offering discounted tickets for people with disabilities and their personal assistants whose support is essential during festival events.
Audio description
For the first time, the festival programme includes a performance with audio description. On Sunday, July 26, 17:00, we invite you to see “Ceramic Circus” by Swiss artist Julian Vogel. Thanks to the audio description, audiences will be able to follow everything happening on stage in real time – the performer’s movements, the props, the lighting, and the space. The audio description will be prepared by the Otwieracz Association.
“Ceramic Circus” is a unique performance built on rhythm, sound, and suspense. The fragility of the ceramic objects, the sounds they make as they move, and the music come together to create a multisensory experience that, together with the audio description, allows audiences to fully engage with the performance.
Accessibility for deaf and hard of hearing audiences
Most performances presented at the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów are either non-verbal or rely primarily on physical action and gesture. During “Blanc” by Sébastien Wojdan, audiences will be able to see a video with Polish subtitles.
“Blanc” is a circus journey into the depths of the human soul. This autobiographical circus performance builds its own language from multiple layers of meaning and performative experience, all set within an exquisitely crafted scenography. At times disorienting yet deeply moving, the performance is impressionistic and uncompromising in form. Drawing on personal fears and an individual perspective, it ultimately tells a story that speaks to universal human experience.
Both ticketed performances take place in the fully accessible opera hall of the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures.

About the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów
Carnaval Sztukmistrzów is the largest festival in Poland showcasing contemporary circus arts. For years the event has attracted crowds of residents and tourists to the city. They are drawn not only by world-class circus performances, but also by the magical atmosphere of the festival. The program includes clowning, acrobatics, juggling, and illusion shows presented as engaging circus performances, as well as attractions for children and concerts. It is the most performatively diverse festival in the country. In addition, the Carnaval is accompanied by the Urban Highline Festival—the oldest and largest highline festival in the world held in an urban space. Most of the festival program is free of charge and takes place in streets, squares, and public spaces. Some events are ticketed and can be seen in theatres and performance halls.
